Description- Layers of encaustic medium with alcohol ink and shellac burn.

Inspiration- Applying alcohol ink then a shellac burn to the encaustic surface, was a fun and interesting experiment. I flashed back to my high school chemistry class, remembering to always have a fire extinguisher within reach. When the shellac was burned, the alcohol ink expanded and contracted on the wax resulting in a canvas boasting beautiful cells of blended color, size, shape and movement. The unpredictability of this technique was exciting and the outcome was a very happy accident. If you let the wax lead you, the magic will happen!
