Description- The first in my cardboard (CB) series, this piece was inspired by geometric shapes, texture and simplicity.

Inspiration- Between my relocation to WI and Chewy deliveries for my pups, cardboard boxes were taking over! My creative brain kicked in and I began experimenting with cardboard and encaustic. I started with simple shapes I painted with layers of encaustic medium then used a dry brush technique to create texture. After creating the circle and rectangle pieces, I decided to assemble a smaller architectural cardboard piece, adding dimension and interest. Keeping the cardboard as the focal points, I painted a rich, neutral and slightly textured black layer of encaustic as the backdrop.
